Chris' TF2 configs

If you wish to clone these configs directly from git, clone git://github.com/cdown/tf2configs.git.

Installation

  1. Download the config you want to use.
  2. Save the config as autoexec.cfg in %PROGRAMFILES%/Steam/steamapps/%username%/team fortress 2/tf/cfg.
  3. Go into Steam, right-click Team Fortress 2 and select Properties.
  4. Select Set launch options...
  5. Paste the launch options from the top of the config, replacing WIDTH and HEIGHT with their respective values.
  6. Click OK, and then close the properties window.
  7. Launch TF2, then quit.
  8. Remove -dxlevel xx from the launch options.

dx9frames is a highframes derivative designed to work without issue in DirectX 9 mode. highframes offers high performance without destroying the TF2 look. maxframes foregoes everything in the pursuit of performance, but it will likely not perform much better than highframes on most setups.

highquality should offer similar visual quality to maxquality at a significantly less pronounced cost to game performance.

medic is my personal config that I have developed over the years playing medic in competitive TF2.
